Frog vs Flies
This was a game produced for the GMTK Game Jam 2020, where the theme was 'Out of Control', built in the Godot engine.
Controls:
- Move with the ARROW KEYS (jump with UP and drop down with DOWN)
- Eat flies with SPACE
You play as a frog trapped in a terrarium, where a steady buffet of flies flowing in quickly changes from a blessing to a curse, as they start streaming in and taking over.
The more flies there are in the terrarium, the less health you'll have - and so you need to eat as many as you can, without them causing too much of a swarm - and being, well, out of control!
**As with the previous game jam submissions I've made, there are lots of improvements that I'd love to make if I had the time, including:
- powerups/healing items
- sorting out the collision boxes for the tongue/flies (I'm sorry, it will be infuriating)
- animations (including the flies, jumping, atmospheric such as leaves moving)
- better pathfinding for the flies etc
And so on...**
I ultimately chose to test out importing watercolours as assets in preparation for some longer term projects I'm working on at the moment, so a lot of lessons were learnt!
